Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009)

But beware, the robot race of Cylons is in hot pursuit … and it seems nothing will stop them. Based on the original TV series from 1978-80, this 21st-century update was broadcast on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Dead Like Me (2003-2004)

This dramedy centers on a motley crew of grim reapers who escort the dead into the afterlife, a group headed by a droll boss and anchored by a college-age newcomer. The newbie doesn’t know what she’s doing — or even why she was chosen for the job in the first place. But soon, she grows to recognize the poetry in her purpose.

Jericho (2006-2008)

This series revolves around a small town in Kansas that finds itself cut off from the rest of the world after a mushroom cloud appears on the horizon, and a TV and radio blackout ensues. Has there been a terrorist attack or a preëmptive nuclear strike? Faced with terrifying uncertainty, the town — including the mayor  and his prodigal son — begins to come apart at its seams.

Moonlight (2007-2008)

Easygoing baker Ned  can bring things back to life with his touch, so he uses his gift to help private eye Emerson Cod  solve murders. But there’s a warning: A second touch will doom the revived forever. So when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart  back to life, they can never, ever touch — but that doesn’t stop them from falling in love.

I wasn’t planning on watching this series but it happened to come on Tv when I had nothing else to watch. I sat there with the clicker in hand, telling myself that I should change the channel but couldn’t.  Loved this show. It made my jaw drop. It’s a visionary entertaining.
