This documentary follows a family in Indonesia who are Christians but still hold onto some Muslim traditions. Leonard Retel Helmrich uses the world around them to show the two faiths wrestle together. Some of his shots are amazing for a documentary. I don’t know how he got them done. Maybe I’m a poor documentarian and don’t have the equipment for those shots. A beautifully filmed documentary but I would have liked to see them go deeper into the conflict.
