Acrobat Eddie Marsh gets drafted into the Army but what he really wants is to join the Air Force. To get a transfer he devices a plan to get involved with his commanding officer’s daughter.

I loved the story. It’s a beautiful love story and the chemistry between Kathryn Grayson and Gene Kelley was popping. Also, Kelley’s most famous dance number is in this film, you know, the one with the mop. The one draw back to this film is the showcase at the end of the film. What’s with an hour of nothing but a variety show with famed performers of the time. It doesn’t have anything to do with the story and it gets old. I wanted them to get back to Kelley and Grayson. Having been nominated for three academy awards this film is worth a watch.
