Snowflower and the Secret Fan (2011)

Rated PG-13

Based on Lisa See’s book by the same title, Snowflower and the Secret Fan, we watch as two friends pledged to be lifelong companions in the 19th century. Their story is interwoven with two woman in modern time with the same pledge that’s tested with time. Starring Russell Wong, Bingbing Li, Archie Kao, Ji-hyun Jun

This film is visually stunning. To transitions from 19th China to modern-day Shanghai, its beautiful filmed. Regardless of that, the film had to shorten the story into two hours and to do that there was some lack with the stories of the girls. Both sets of girls’ story was not as in-depth as they could have been. Even with that I do believe that this mediocre film to watch.
