Restrepo (2010)

Rated R

Sebastian Junger spent a year with the Second Platoon in Afghanistan. He chronicles the hard work, fear and brotherhood of the platoon while fighting with the enemy. Starring The Men of Battle Company 2nd of the 503rd Infantry Regiment 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Juan ‘Doc Restrepo, Dan Kearney, LaMonta Caldwell

This documentary was great in showing the brotherhood of troops but after watching fictional war films we missed the action. I also think the way war is conducted has changed which this documentary tried to show. The communication between the locals and troops brings forth the new face of war. The film doesn’t leave out the horrors of war. It takes place in Korengal Valley the deadliest place in the Afghan war. I give praise to the filmmakers for honoring the soldiers that served in this war. It’s a great snippet of war.
