Young Adult (2011)

Rated R

A young adult writer learns that her high school flame is married and just had his first child. She heads home to try to reconnect with him. Starring Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser

When I first heard about this film, I thought: oh, no, another sleazy film about a woman trying to win back an ex-flame. Oh, was I wrong, this film was cleverly done. Charlize Theron was stunning in the role as the writer. She held the line between being crazy  and just misunderstood to perfection. Diablo Cody, the screenwriter,  knows how to write controversial films with a truth that is spectacular to watch and makes us think. I wouldn’t shelve this film without seeing it first. Watch it.
