Frankenweenie (2012) Rated PG

FrankenweenieA boy loses his dog but uses science to bring him back to life. Based on the novel, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Starring Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Winona Ryder

Of course this is a classical Tim Burton stop motion film. Although, this is a well done film, throughout the movie, I had one question. Would I let my children watch this? I’m not sure I would. The traumatic scenes with the lost of a beloved pet made me think it is too much for young minds. Even though, the thought crossed my mind that I’ve become so sensitive to pet deaths on-screen, it’s hard for me to watch. With my personal feelings aside, Burton knows stop motion and where heart of the story is.
