I thought this was a beautifully told story of a woman who didn’t have much control over the decisions made for her. This is not a mushy story, it’s a story that has heart and a lesson in forgiveness. Stephen Frears and Steve Coogan takes us on a fictional trip to discover the truth of Philomena’s child it’s a ride where we feel her pain and hope in finding her child. Even when Philomena met with Mary, her son’s adoptive sister, I did questioned why Mary never asked about her past. I even wondered why Philomena didn’t share the information she had of her son’s past with Mary before the adoption. Although, this might have been explained better in the book.  This is a can’t miss movie and worth a watch.
