Time of the Wolf (2002) Rated G

Time of the wolfA boy befriends a wolf after the loss of his parents. Starring Burt Reynolds, Marthe Keller, Devin Douglas Drewitz, Jason Priestley

This film is reminiscent of other wolf-related films like The Journey of Natty Gann, A Cry of the Wild, and White Fang. In my opinion, it is also of the same caliber as its predecessors.  At the head of its strong cast is Devin Douglas Drewitz (think a young Neil Patrick Harris), who adeptly plays the orphaned boy dealing with the death of his parents.  Adding to his stress, he is sent to live with his aunt (played by Marthe Keller), who is also dealing with her own grief.  Burt Reynolds fills in as Douglas’ sympathetic uncle and mediator between his two grieving loved ones.  Thoughtful and well portrayed, this one is worth a watch.
