Trading Christmas (2011) Rated G

Trading ChristmasA widowed second grade teacher treasures the time she spends with her college-age daughter at Christmas.  However, this Christmas, her daughter decides to stay at school for the holidays.  To surprise her, the mom plans a house-swap with a novelist in Boston, where her daughter resides.   Based on the novel of the same name by Debbie Macomber. Starring Tom Cavanagh, Faith Ford, Gil Bellows, Gabrielle Miller, Emma Lahana

Although the themes are not new and the time frame is short, I still thought this was an enjoyable film. Without being overly romanticized, both house-swappers find a chance at love, with only a week to decide their futures.  The story line moves along quickly and engages the audience with ease.  Yes, there are several house-swapping romance films out there, but this one is well done and adds a fun twist for the holidays.   It is worth a watch.
