The Good Guy (2009) Rated R

The Good GuyAn ambitious, young New Yorker wants it all: a good job, good friends, and a good guy to go with it all. Starring Alexis Bledel, Anna Chlumsky, Scott Porter, Andrew McCarthy, Adrian Martinez, Colin Egglesfield, Bryan Greenberg.

This movie was mildly interesting.  I had a hard time determining which love interest was the good guy and which was the bad guy.  The filmmakers did a good job keeping their characters ambiguous.

However, it felt like the film lacked purpose or direction.  It was as though they couldn’t decide what they message was.  Was it supposed to be a comedy or romance? It sure didn’t feel like a romance with the lack of chemistry between the “love” interests.  If it was merely supposed to be a look at the love lives among young New Yorkers, it didn’t come across as very appealing to me.  This film failed to satisfy, lacking a clear concept and falling flat in the romance department.  It is not worth a watch.
