The Green Berets (1968) Rated G

The Green Berets A Colonel takes two groups  of Green Berets on two missions in South Vietnam. Based on the book by Robin Moore. Starring John Wayne, David Janssen, Jim Hutton, George Takei.

The one thing about this movie that I struggled with was how unrealistic it was. Made in an era without CGI or advanced filmmaking technology, plus the lack of  attention to detail, what you get is bad makeup, poor gun handling, and erroneous military policies and  procedures.  What it does a great job of showing is the excellence of our military.  This film really focuses on the heart of the military, which is to follow orders and get the job done- and do it well.  I am so thankful for them.  For that alone, this film is worth the watch.
