The Greatest Story Ever Told

Retelling of the life of Jesus Christ. Starring Max von Sydow, Michael Anderson Jr., Carroll Baker, Charlton Heston, Martin Landau, Angela Lansbury, Pat Boone, Roddy McDowall, John Wayne, Shelley Winters

I know this is a classic but I was rather disheartened by it. It’s not the best telling of Christ.   It doesn’t follow the Bible completely which I was hoping for. I would really like to see some day, the four gospels joined together to make a great epic. Of course, I wouldn’t add anything like John the Baptist asking Jesus, who he is. Ah, I think they already know each other, they are cousins. Yes, it could have been years but really. The Cinematography is great but with the story really lacking I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Even with all the problems it’s isn’t one that I would’ve skipped, it’s still worth a watch.
