42nd Street (1933) Rated NR

A director may be putting on his last show on Broadway when a newcomer is hired to replace the star of the show. Starring Warner Baxter, Bebe Daniels, George Brent, Ginger Rogers, Dick Powell.

42nd Street is a show within a show. The film showcases the behind-the-scenes of a Broadway production. It’s also one of the first musicals made. It is well-written with catchy tunes that make you want to sing along. This film broke the ground for many of the musicals and romantic films that followed. Even if you are not a fan of musicals, this is still worth a watch.
