A headhunter struggles to gain control of his job placement and meet his family obligations. Starring Alison Brie, Willem Dafoe, Gerard Butler, Gretchen Mol, Alfred Molina.

There is nothing original about this story. Basically, a man makes work his life, and as he climbs the corporate ladder to provide for his family, he neglects them in the process, until their need for him is greater than the money he makes. This role is a departure for Butler. I don’t know that it suited him very well, but he managed it alright. What I loved about his character is that he was willing to change his ways, but the movie fails to delve into the significance of that choice, which is unfortunate. Molina, who has an important supporting role, does a nice job. There just isn’t enough depth or originality to carry this film, though. It is a pass.
