I actually enjoyed this reality show. It doesn’t try to be anything more than what it is. It’s one of the lower production reality shows, but all good reality shows start out that way. Think back to the first season of American Idol. This show already has the talent, they just need to narrow it down to the best candidate for the boy band. There are guys you root for and get attached to, and you feel sad when they have to go. It is obvious that the contestants are prompted beforehand, and the producers take long breaks so the contestants can prepare for on-the-spot performances. Do I think they’ll actually discover a new boy band? I don’t think so. A boy band needs a fan base and that’ll be hard to get in 10 weeks. They’ll need to work harder after the show. Still, this show is entertaining enough to make it worth a watch.
