Against a Crooked Sky (1975) Rated G

When Charlotte Sutter gets kidnapped by a group of Indians, her brother and a drunk prospector go in search for her. The film is a remake of The Searchers.  Starring Richard Boone, Stewart Petersen, Henry Wilcoxon.

This is an engaging story as we follow Sam, the brother, as he tracks down the tribe that took his sister. In order to free her, he must sacrifice himself to a journey of the crooked sky. The film’s premise is a little out there, and I’m not sure it is based on any real Native American tradition, but the story is interesting. Even with the subject matter, the film is still appropriately G-rated. I can’t say it is the best film, but it is still a great watch.
