American Woman (Paramount) Rated TV-14

A single mother raises two daughters during the 1970s. Starring  Alicia Silverstone, Mena Suvari, and Jennifer Bartels.

This is a brilliant series; Alicia Silverstone is perfect as the divorcee trying to make a good life for herself and her daughters. The costumes and set designs are on-point with the show’s time period. The storyline is wonderfully written, and it has the potential for characters to grow. The show does lean strongly toward feminism, which continues to be in the forefront of today’s media. However, I think the show is well written, and Silverstone’s performance brings her character to life. It’s a comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you look at the show for what it is, it’s worth a watch.
