A gay couple is surprised when a 10-year-old boy shows up on their doorstep. Starring Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh, and Steve Coogan.
At first, this film has a great comedic script; we have two men living an extravagant lifestyle when a boy shows up on their doorstep. The story takes on the roost like bachelors getting custody of a 10-year-old. It’s a charming story without overly gay storylines, and it realistically presents foster care. Initially, I found the film enjoyable, but the end credits put me off to the point that I would say the movie isn’t worth a watch. I would have given it a higher score if it had promoted adoption overall, rather than just trying to make a statement. The statement is why I gave the film a low score; it’s a slap in the face politically instead of promoting adoption. This film is not worth a watch.
