The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947) Rated NR

A clumsy daydreamer gets caught up in a conspiracy. Based on the story by James Thurber and Rosemary Thurber. Starring Danny Kaye, Virginia Mayo, and Boris Karloff.

I will say – this film is more comical and interesting than the remake (2013). This film has a more defined separation between the daydream and the real world. Of course, the people around Mitty still disrespect him. Danny Kaye is brilliant as the goofball Mitty as he stumbles throughout his life in a daydream. As outlandish this film can be, it still holds on to the reality of life, so it seems possible. The film does highlight Kaye’s talents in acting, singing, dancing, and comedy. This film is worth a watch.
