In Secret (2013) Rated R

A woman in Paris in the 1860s embarks on an affair that has its consequences. Starring Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac, and Tom Felton.

This film should have been better than it was. The storyline is intriguing, and the first part of the film pulls you in at a rapid pace. It moves along quickly by establishing the characters. Then, the climax hits and the story turns cold. You no longer care about the characters. It’s a dark film with dark plots; then you have the sexually explicit scenes that are out of place. Elizabeth Olsen’s performance is one that stands out, and Jessica Lange was brilliant as usual, but their performances don’t hold the film together. This film leaves a lot to be desired and isn’t worth a watch.
