Son of God (2014) Rated PG-13

The life of Jesus is depicted from his birth through his crucifixion and resurrection. Starring Diogo Morgado, Greg Hicks, and Adrian Schiller.

I struggled with this sequel to The Bible film last year. The Bible was done well; this one was not. I was not impressed. For one, I don’t think they did the scriptures justice. At times they took liberties with the scriptures more than they did in The Bible last year. The film mostly just picked scenes from last year’s film and then tried to string a narrative between them. It didn’t come together well. Diogo Morgado as Jesus was nice but somehow missed the mark this time around. The film also missed the most vital mark, the reason we have a Son of God – sin and Satan. This film is much worse than last year’s film, and I’ll have to say it isn’t worth a watch.
