Cleveland Abduction (2015) Rated TV-14

A single mother is the first victim of kidnapper Ariel Castro and spends 11 years in captivity before she is rescued. Starring Taryn Manning, Raymond Cruz, and Katie Sarife.

This film is based on the true story of Michelle Knight, who was the first victim of Castro. It tells the story from Knight’s point of view, surviving 11 years as a Castro’s captive. The film follows the relationship between the two as Castro kidnapped two more victims. It also gives us a sense of the physical and mental abuse these women experienced under Castro, but it doesn’t show the graphic violence. We even get a look at the friendship that developed between the three victims while they deal with the constant fear, discouragment and lack of hope of being rescued. This story is unbelievable but amazing. These women were amazing. This film is worth a watch.
