Boiler Room (2000) Rated R

A college dropout gets a job that might not be as legitimate as it seems. Starring Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, and Nia Long.

Boiler Room is a story of an underground stockbroker firm that engages in immoral and unethical business practices. The film leaves many questions unanswered, and from the get go, you know that the firm is not legit. You would think that Ribisi’s dropout character would recognize it from the start. Then you have music that doesn’t mesh with the story – it disrupts the flow. The only good thing about this film is Ribisi’s acting. He proves yet again that he’s got the chops. I wish it had been a better film, but it’s not worth the watch.
