Spotlight (2015) Rated R

The true story of the Boston Globe’s uncovering the child molestations and cover-ups within the Catholic Archdiocese. Starring Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, and Rachel McAdams.

This film is brilliant. It showcases real journalism, which is something we no longer have. These journalists investigate abuse in the Catholic church. They discover that it isn’t just a case here or there, but it’s deep and the church covers it up. The film isn’t one that’s great beyond what it is intended to be. It’s a simple take on what the newspaper did to discover the truth. The acting is good. This film highlights journalism at its best and is worth the watch.
