The Confirmation (2016) Rated PG-13

A divorced father and his son spend a weekend together and discover more about family bonding. Starring Clive Owen, Maria Bello, and Jaeden Martell.

This is one of those films that is just enjoyable to watch. Here we have a father spending time with his son, but he has his own problems. The weekend is spent trying to find the tools the dad needs for his job that were stolen from him. The storyline showcases the sweet innocence of life. The film revolves around evils of the world, fighting, thievery, lying, and stealing, but none of that takes center stage. It doesn’t go down the rabbit hole of violence; this is a story about a father and son. It’s classified as a comedy, but it lacks comic flare. It’s a pleasant film that is great for families to watch, but the plainness of it and the film not knowing where it wants to go make it not worth a watch.
