1883 (Paramount+) Rated TV-MA

1883 follows the Dutton family as they travel west to the uncivilized America. Starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.

This show is just as brilliant as Yellowstone, which is not surprising when the creators are the same. It has the great story of Yellowstone but brings us the events that make the family what it is today. It also brings to life the real west and how it was untamed and the lawlessness of the land. While the story is there and is historically accurate of the west, we have one great legend and two newbies to the acting world. Elliott is who he is, and it shows on screen. Then you have married couple McGraw and Hill who have touched their toes in the water of the business. McGraw seems to be a natural at it. Hill, for the first time is almost unrecognizable in her role. It would be interesting to see them grow in their parts. With the three leads, we have an angle that the writers want to pursue, and that is with their oldest daughter, played by Isabel May. She is the one we need to watch. This series is worth the watch.
