A Grandpa for Christmas (2007) Rated TV-PG

A retired song and dance man becomes a grandfather to a granddaughter he’s never met. Starring Ernest Borgnine, Katherine Helmond, and Juliette Goglia.

This is one of the many Hallmark fares that come around every year. Although, this one doesn’t have the typical “boy meets girl and lives happily ever after” ending. This one takes on the typical family drama that takes place due to estrangement. While this family tries to heal from past hurts, the grandfather works at getting to know his granddaughter. While the film has a usual heartfelt story told by wonderful actors, it doesn’t go deep. It sugarcoats the story. It’s a lovely story, but it’s one of many that Hallmark does, and to me, it’s not worth the watch.
