The International (2009) Rated R

An Interpol agent tries to expose a financial institution’s role in an arms dealing ring. Starring Clive Owen, Naomi Watts, and Armin Mueller-Stahl.

This is another boring thriller. The film revolves around the financial world and is more clever than people who watch thrillers. We have an agent looking into an international bank that’s involved with an international arms dealing ring. As he looks into their business deals, the people he’s been talking to end up dead. The evil villain in this story is the financial institution, which doesn’t bode well for getting sympathy. What the film has going for it are the camera shots and its ability to pull off suspense. In the end, the film doesn’t make much sense; it’s too smart for its own good. Thus, it’s not worth the watch.
