The Thing Called Love (1993)

Rated PG-13

An aspiring country singer heads to Nashville to make her dreams come true. Along the way she falls in love with two different men.

This is one charming film. It’s not the best film out there but it had an enduring quality to it. It shows off talent of some up and comers: River Phoenix, Sandra Bullock, Samantha Mathis, and Dermot Mulroney. Although, I felt at times that River was a little over his head with this performance. The film is unique and story driven and with the acting it makes it watchable. It touches and we sympathize with Samantha Mathis’ character, Miranda Presley (of no relation). It’s worth a watch.
