The Words (2012) Rated PG-13

wordsA writer must come to terms with his decision to steal another man’s work. Starring Dennis Quaid, John Hannah, Jeremy Irons, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, J.K. Simmons, Olivia Wilde, Ben Barnes

This is a story within a story within a story. We have three different timelines with three different couples telling the story of The Words. The filmmakers do a good job with distinguishing the different stories. It’s not as creative or imaginative as the trailer leads us to believe but it’s still a good story that’s being told. The story slowly weaved through the timelines but left the ending anticlimactic. It’s an interesting take on the subject and was engaging to watch for a movie night.
