42 – The Jackie Robinson Story (2013) Rated PG-13

42The story of Jackie Robinson’s signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers and the challenges that go with that. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford, Nicole Beharie, Christopher Meloni, Alan Tudyk, T.R. Knight

This film gives an over view on Jackie’s  1947 season of Dodgers. It didn’t dive deeply into that year. It does give you the ups and downs of the color barrier coming down. With that it gives the audience an emotional ride. Aside from the over view of the season, the film gives us a wonderful taste of who Jackie Robinson was. I would have loved to go deeper into that person. The film also gave me a longing to know who Branch Rickey was. Was he a man who was after money or really did want to see the color barrier destroyed. This film is definitely  a see.
