New Year’s Eve (2011) Rated PG-13

New Year's EveThe lives of multiple couples and singles intermingle throughout the night of New Year’s Eve. Starring  Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, Cary Elwes, Alyssa Milano, Common, Jessica Biel, Seth Meyers, Sarah Paulson, Katherine Heigl, Jon Bon Jovi, Sofía Vergara, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, James Belushi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Abigail Breslin, Josh Duhamel, Joey McIntyre, Penny Marshall, Hilary Swank, Ludacris, Hector Elizondo, Ryan Seacrest, Michael Bloomberg, Matthew Broderick, John Lithgow.

Well, if you are celebrity buff, this movie is for you.  I don’t think you could pack anymore celebrities into one film and not just call it an awards show.  Even though it’s a money maker for the stars, it doesn’t completely disappoint.  I thought the stories of the various characters were interesting, and it was fun to see so many stars on the screen all at one time.  Unfortunately, no real attention to quality or detail went into the plot, so there is a definite lack of continuity between the story lines.  If you go into this film expecting only to see your favorite star(s), you won’t be disappointed.  However, if you are looking for anything more, I’d give this one a pass.
