The Divorce of Lady X (1938) Rated UR

Divorce attorney Everard Logan believes that the woman who slept in his hotel room is the wife of his new client. Starring Merle Oberon, Laurence Olivier, Binnie Barnes, Ralph Richardson

This film is a cute romantic farce where the characters all have a misunderstanding. I enjoyed the movie. It does however have some problems. I really thought the turning of events when Logan realizes his mistake, that’s when the farce turned serious and the humor didn’t come back.  It’s true that at that point the farce is pretty much over but It makes the film drop off and it’s not so funny anymore. I also wondered why the attorney would have fallen for the woman who forced her way into his room for the night. He did fall hard and fast without warning. So, you might think this film isn’t worthy to watch but I enjoyed it enough to say it’s not a waste of time, it’s worth the watch.
