Churchill’s Secret (2016) Rated PG

churchills-secretPrime Minister Winston Churchill suffers a stroke, unbeknownst to the world, during the summer of 1953. Based on the book, The Churchill Secret: KBO by Jonathan Smith. Starring Michael Gambon, Romola Garai, Lindsay Duncan, Daisy Lewis, Matthew Macfadyen.

As a history buff, I am always excited when shows like these pop up. I love seeing history brought to life. Unfortunately, there really isn’t anything overly interesting about Churchill’s stroke to make it the focus of an entire program. Aside from some mild tension among the family members and his advisors, it’s basically just a factual recreation of Churchill’s days recovering from his stroke.  This show is a pass.
