The CGI and special effects are the true stars of this film, and Cruise seems made for his role. Unfortunately, the story lacks cohesion and depth, although it does have some interesting twists and turns and nods to other sci-fi films. For the cinematography alone, though, this movie is worth a watch; it is absolutely stunning. And the ever-engaging action hero Cruise is the icing on the cake.
