A couple participates in a medical experiment to have a child with pyrokinetic abilities. Based on the book by Stephen King. Starring  David Keith, Drew Barrymore, and Freddie Jones.

This film surprised me. There are Stephen King films that are good, and then there are some that are mediocre. This is one of the better ones – not the best, but better. The story is what grabs you and pulls you in as you realize what’s at stake. The film doesn’t really explain the characters’ abilities very well,  the history of the medical experiments, or why they have chosen to do them, but it brings you into the characters’ world as they try to survive with their abilities. This film is worth a watch.
