Crossbones is set in 1700 and centers around pirate Blackbeard. Starring John Malkovich, Richard Coyle, and Claire Foy.

This show seems to take a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a pirate. It tries to humanize the characters, letting them be more than just pirates. The show has great production (I think that is because they snagged John Malkovich as Blackbeard). All around, the acting leaves much to be desired, even Malkovich struggled in this show. However, I always give props to the non-traditional shows on TV. This one is interesting, and if they could figure out where they are going with the series, this show could be great – but alas, this show isn’t worth a watch.
