The Monuments Men (2014) Rated PG-13

A world war II platoon is ordered to rescue priceless art from Nazi thieves and return them to the original owners. Starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Bill Murray.

This is a story that needs to be told, but I think they did it the wrong way. It has humor and history, but it doesn’t have the cohesion of characters. This is a team, but the team doesn’t seem to work together. The characters are just one sided with little depth. Then we have little understanding of the actual artwork that these characters lay down their lives for. The film really should be one that takes a heroic look at this platoon that saved some of the world’s greatest artwork, but alas the film is filled with outbursts and laughs. I wish this film were better, but it’s not worth a watch.
