A high school coach takes a team from obscurity to a winning streak that smashes all the records for high school football. Starring Jim Caviezel, Michael Chiklis, and Alexander Ludwig.
This is a good movie that follows a team as they overcome adversity to become champions, but even the winning doesn’t last forever, so the team must overcome their losses as well. It’s a great story with good morals. The film gives us good game scenes but lacks good character relationship depth. For the most part, I felt that the film didn’t have much to distinguish it from any other sports film. The story takes place at a Catholic high school, and I understand that religion should be a part of the film, but, surprisingly, I felt that religion was a little overdone. Even with all the negative feelings I had about the film, it’s still a film worth a watch.
