Stockholm, Pennsylvania (2015) Rated TV-14

A young woman who was kidnapped as a child returns home as an adult and struggles with feeling at home. Starring Saoirse Ronan, Cynthia Nixon, and Jason Isaacs.

This film is interesting as it deals with the aftermath of a child abduction and looks at the experience after the child comes home. Although the film is interesting, it isn’t a realistic view of what happens. The film takes a turn after establishing Leia’s struggle with coming back to the real world, and her mother loses sense of right and wrong. However, I get that when you have dealt with psychological trauma, you may revert back to it. The film has brilliant performances by Ronan and Nixon, as daughter and mother. Unfortunately, the film runs slow at times. It’s a film that has good points and bad points, but the good doesn’t outweigh the bad. It’s a film not worth a watch.
