The Music in Me (2015) Rated TV-G

A singer leaves her dreams behind in order to take care of her family until some musically-challenged strangers remind her of her dream. Starring Debbie Gibson, Antonio Cupo, and Gloria Reuben.

This film seems like it’s a contrived story. The story doesn’t just flow – it seems forced. Gibson, who has done some acting through the years, just looks flat. The relationship between Gibson and Cupo lacks chemistry. His character comes off more like a slimy guy than someone with a sincere attraction.  Then you have the quirky choir members, who either shouldn’t be so quirky or should’ve been the stars of the show, but they fall in between the two, which makes it confusing. This film just falls short and is not worth a watch.
