The night manager of a Cairo hotel is recruited to work in an arms dealer’s inner circle. Based on the book by John Le Carré. Starring Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, and Elizabeth Debicki.
The Night Manager is a series that doesn’t derive from Le Carré’s book. The show is brilliant showcased with cinematography and great actors, but the story doesn’t pull you in. It feels like the showmakers struggled at bringing the book to life in a world surrounded by technology. Overall, it struggles with the story and pacing. Mostly, the show just seems illogical. It tries to create suspense, but when you think that the arms dealer would recognize the spy in his midst as soon as he is there, you might wonder how these events are possible. The cinematography and acting are the only things going for this show, making it worth a watch.
