A film based on the true story of the explosion on the drilling rig, Deepwater Horizon in April of 2010. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, and Douglas M. Griffin.

This is a brilliant testament to Peter Berg’s direction. We get a great action film with an honest account of the tragedy. The story follows key witnesses of the event rather than the tragedy of those we lost. Berg shows great attention to detail on an ocean rig and he gives us a chance to know the characters that make up the rig. It also leaves us with a calmness when all is over. Overall, the film is an excellent portrayal of a true event that ended in tragedy. It’s worth a watch.
