Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life (2016) Rated PG

After the principal destroys Rafe’s sketchbook he and his best friend decide to destroy the principal’s book of rules. Based on the series by James Patterson. Starring Griffin Gluck, Lauren Graham, and Alexa Nisenson.

This is a good family film. It has a mixture of animation and live action, which I thought would be a distraction, but as the film progressed, it grew on me. It’s a film that is not based on reality. It’s just a fun romp of childhood fantasy, especially when the adults aren’t as nice. My main issue with the film is that it’s too fictional; it doesn’t have a true sense of middle school life mixed in with Rafe’s fantasy life. This film is not worth the watch.
