The World Is Not Enough (1999) Rated PG-13

James Bond uncovers a nuclear plot while protecting an heiress from her kidnapper. Starring Pierce Brosnan, Sophie Marceau, and Robert Carlyle.

This isn’t the worst Bond film I’ve seen. I rather like Brosnan, as Bond. He is the eponym of who Bond is: suave, debonair, and daring. While Brosnan personified Bond, the script was lackluster. It had its moments, but the action sequences just didn’t have enough pizazz to make you go wow. The characters also fall short. Carlyle wasn’t able to make his character stand out. I struggled with Denise Richards as the choice for the Bond girl. She did what a Bond girl is there to do, be smart and beautiful, but she was uninteresting and wrongly cast in her role. This Bond film is not worth a watch.
