City in the Sky (PBS) Rated TV-PG

Every day 100,000 flights fill the air with 1 million people. This series explores the world of aviation. Starring Dallas Campbell, Hannah Fry, and Joachim Schwarzenberg.

This series takes a look behind the scenes of the aviation business and the three points of flying: takeoff, airborne, and landing. It shows how an airport runs in order to get you from point A to point B safely and “happy.” While it doesn’t cover the different security measures in place after 9/11, it does look at what takes place behind the scenes to get you to your destination. If you fly at all, you’ll enjoy this series. If you’re terrified to fly, this might give you relief. The show tends to jump around rather than just focus on the sequence of flying, but once they get on a subject, we understand it. This series is worth a watch.
