A Christmas… Present (2022) Rated NR

A busy mom takes her family across the country to spend Christmas with her brother and niece as this is the first Christmas without his wife. Starring Marc Blucas, Candace Cameron Bure, and Paul Fitzgerald.

This is  definitely different from the Hallmark movies. It’s one of the first films that Candace Bure has done with the switch to Great American Family. While the storyline doesn’t do the traditional romance, it’s more geared toward the family, it still has some romance with the married couple. While  I like the film, and I hate to be a downer, but there’s one thing I just couldn’t overlook. I’m always a fan of the families being real. Thus, I love it when they mention church or going to church like normal people. It’s a part of life. What frustrates me is that we got a sermon with the film. Granted, she knew her audience wasn’t just Christians, but it was both a joy to hear and a frustration that it was a plot in the film. I do think they tried hard to blend it into the storyline, so it was more natural than other Christian films. While that is a plus for the film, it isn’t as natural as it could be. I just think they could have done better. This film is not worth the watch.
