Green Lantern (2011)

Rated PG-13

This movie lacked so much. First, the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively left more to be desired. The script had holes in it. I think the makers made it for the fans of Green Lantern comic book series but there was some much that I question. Like, when Hal gets attacked in the parking lot and the attackers say something about you deserve this, see how this feels, now, who are these people and why are they attacking Hal. I didn’t get it. Or, when Tom says “Doesn’t the superhero get the girl?” My thought was which girl, the one he woke up with or the one he works for? I’m confused. I didn’t see anything that resembles attraction between Hal and Carol to make me think they would get together except for their past. The past that I know nothing about. Green Lantern has the feel of being rushed to screen.

I have to disagree with you one this movie. With the exception of the mask effects this was a good movie. Not the best but good. It wasn’t that their were plot hole it was you just wasn’t paying attention. The guys beating up Hal were from the military base lead by the guy who told him to watch his back.
And why would you think they were talking about the girl in the begining? She was on screen for 10 second.
I thought the chemstry between the leads was very well played. They had that hans solo, leia mixed with a bit of ron and harmonie thing going on.
There were some problems with the story but that had to do with bad editing and will probably end up on the directors cut or something like that.

I agree with you on the mask effects that was cool. I admit that I was distracted during the movie so I wasn’t quite sure if I was missing information or if that was plot. Thanks for clearing up the questions I did have. I still stick with my feelings that Ryan and Blake had little chemstry.
