The 5th Quarter (2010) Rated PG-13

5th quarter

Jon Abbate in honor of his brother, who died in a car accident, wears the number 5 jersey and takes the school football team to the best season the school has had. Based on real events. Starring Andie MacDowell, Aidan Quinn, Anessa Ramsey, Ryan Merriman

This story sounds great and I believe could have been a great story if they hadn’t been so overly dramatized. I don’t know if the overly dramatization was based on true events or if the filmmakers, which I could see overly dramatizing the scenes. I wish this film was made better, it deserves to be made better. It has two of the best actors in the world with Andie MacDowell and Aidan Quinn. They also used some of the same people involved in the true event. All that and it had the best thing going for it, but it was so poorly executed. See this film if you want tears both for the story and for how badly this film is.
